a collaborative exhibition with Pamela Irving for Melbourne Fringe. Pamela Irving Studio+Gallery, 68 Patterson Road, Bentleigh. Exhibition is viewed from the street, accessible 24/7.
Fenestration: 1. the arrangement, proportioning, and design of windows and doors in a building. 2. an opening in a surface (such as a wall or membrane)
Making an exhibition in boxes for the gallery window was the starting point for our fringe exhibition. Discovering many photos I have taken through windows into buildings, out of buildings and the train onto landscapes, and simply of windows, the window theme also seeped into the works I made for the show.

COLLAGES
Some images of windows were printed over pages of the book “The Edwardian Lady’, a biography of the poet and illustrator, Edith Holden by Ina Taylor; then painted and collaged into and over, and sewn.
I used oil paint directly onto untreated paper so images will be translucent and let light pass through, creating images that evoke a sense of mystery – what exactly am I looking here? is there a story?
