Bayside Creatives Month is a month-long program of creativity that celebrates the creative makers in Bayside. Held for the first time in February 2025, it’s back in 2026.

I opened my studio on the weekend of 7+8 February with my friend, photographer Catherine Acin.

Visitors got to peek into the studio and the processes behind creating paintings, images, artist books and prints. This weekend focussed on the image, rather than objects.

Catherine and I met many years through our work at Arts Access Victoria. She beautifully documented many of the organisation’s projects, noticing detail, mood and intent. Catherine showed images from her personal archives – of travel, weather, and relationships; her book about her mother, a work in progress, generated lots of conversation about celebrating French women finally getting the right to vote in 1945.

Catherine and I regularly meet for walks along the beach and outings which usually involve nature. Our conversations are rich and important to both of us. I hope you enjoy seeing those conversations unfold through our work.
