Training for Aged Care and Disability Workers

Some samples of works made during the one-day training program for Aged and Disability care workers.   Most of the workers run community groups and were keen to learn some basic skills in art making.   In these workshops participants learn how to use and mix colours, cutting tiles, about adhesives, ideas for creative practice with clients, finding resources to run low-cost groups.

I offer training in painting, claywork and mosaics to this sector.

Comments from participants…
significant things gained from this training:
How to mix paint and work creatively with the aged and people with a disability.
Understanding how to run a workshop.
what you would do differently as a result of the training :
Show clients they still have the ability to create.
Try more specifically to engage clients.
Too many things to write!
Trainer was excellent and very helpful.
Excellent the way it was presented.
Most significant thing you gained from this training:
Ways to inspire children and adults to paint.
How people can gain confidence through art.
How to use colours.
I will now be more confident to encourage clients to paint.
Participants worked on large group artworks inspired by the theme of patterns.  A limited range of colours helped participants gain confidence in their painting skills.   Group work gives opportunities to share and learn from each other.
